DSO is constantly on the lookout for bright young talent who can take defence R&D to new heights. The DSO SOAR is awarded to selected engineering, computing and science undergraduates in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) in their 3rd and/or 4th year of studies at the universities. This scheme aims to attract high calibre undergraduates from NTU and NUS to join DSO after graduation.

Eligibility
- Singaporeans (pink NRIC)
- Tenable for 3rd to 4th year of study
- Open to fields of study relevant to DSO's needs, including engineering, computing and science
- Preference will be given to students under the URECA and UROP Programmes
- Have obtained at least a CAP/GPA of 4.2 during application
- Award shall be continuous until graduation
Award Quantum
- Each award quantum covers all tuition, compulsory fees and the provision of
an annual allowance
Bond
- Successful candidates shall be bonded on a one year bond for one year of
sponsorship
Special Programmes
- Each awardee will be assigned a mentor, interact with DSO research scientists and engineers, and gain access to DSO facilities.
- Awardees will be given opportunities to undergo their internships at DSO.
- Awardees will also have the opportunity to be engaged to work in DSO during their term vacations.
- Awardees will be specially invited to DSO events.
