Young Defence Scientists Programme (YDSP)

The Young Defence Scientists Programme or YDSP, now in its 14th year, aims to promote in students a keen interest in defence science and technology. The recent changes in the education landscape allow us to intensify our Programme with the schools. Some of the key components include the Research@YDSP, World of Science, and the Science and Technology Camp.

The Research@YDSP takes advantage of the time offered by the Ministry of Education's Integrated Programme and the schools' emphasis on new learning experiences to expose students to real world research under the guidance and mentorship of researchers in the universities, DSO and DSTA.

The World of Science aims to expose students to more advanced topics in the sciences. It is designed as an enrichment module consisting of lectures, laboratory work and visits.

The Science and Technology Camp is a theme-based holiday treat which offers a fun and educational experience for secondary three students. Through a series of activities such as workshops, excursions and a mini competition, students can look forward to gaining more knowledge on science and technology, and having fun at the same time.
