Detonation Theory

Discipline : Engineering, physics, mathematics

Project Description :

The project aims to: compare CJ and ZND detonation theory. Firstly, the student will read and write a literature survey on the topic. Next, the student is expected to translate the theory into a simple code. The student will produce pressure-time profile fitting the detonation of any (one) particular gas that he likes, according to CJ and ZND theory respectively.

The challenge of the project is to introduce the student to physics and mathematical research in the area of shockwave. This knowledge is a pre-requisite of many graduate school research areas in engineering, physics or mathematics.

Pre-requisite :

Interest in physics or mathematics, basic programming skill in MATLAB or any language.
