Internship Programmes
Discovery of Biomarkers using Comparative Profiling
Discipline: Life Science
Project Description:
The aim of this project is for the elucidation of novel DNA/Protein biomarkers that will be applied to understanding, predicting and profiling various diseases/medical conditions. Both genetic and proteomic strategies will be applied for examining DNA and protein biomarkers for selected diseases and conditions. The project would involve some, if not all, of the state-of-the-art platform technologies available at DMERI, including DNA fingerprinting, High-throughput DNA sequencing, SNP genotyping, Protein Profiling, DNA/Protein Microarrays.
Pre-requisite:
Prior lab experience would be desirable, but not an absolute necessity, as most techniques are novel and can be learnt on the job. Students should be self-motivated and eager to learn.
