Project Description : The mission assumes a helicopter is crashed, and its crew members are captured by potentially hostile forces to a communication restrictive environment. A section of warfighters are tasked to rescue the crew members, and military entity called for implementers to design a Situation Awareness System (SAS), which allows the warfighters to effectively rescue the crew members.
To make the gap between design and reality as small as possible, a computer game known as "Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter" will be used to simulate different fighting tactics, so as to identify close-to-ground features for the SAS. One of the tactics is to make use of UAVs and ad-hoc architecture to get the locality information, which helps commander to control the movement and actions of the warfighters, so as to maneuver enemies to a position from which they can neither fight effectively nor escape.
The identified features will be implemented on radio modules, and each module comes with an IP camera for real-time video capturing. Barometric meter and digital compass with basic position location library are provided for ease of features implementation.
